Hint 7 – Tower and Powerpack

When choosing a tower pay attention on its size. Later on you could perhaps need some extra space. For example if you want to upgrade your system with a video cut card you need a so called PCI Slot.

Also watch if there’s the possibility to add some extra fans – generally a big tower is a good choice.

Today, towers are available in all kinds of forms and colours. Nevertheless the functionality is way more important than how it looks.

Many towers also have build-in power pack. Watch for its capacity! 250 W are usually not enough – better get a 350 W.

Hint 8 – Screen

What screen you buy depends again on what you want to use it for. Usually a 17″ will do it. For your eyes, bigger screens are of course more comfortable but as well more expensive. Nevertheless the size is not all. Also watch for sharpness, the geometry and the refreshment rates.

You will need at least a refreshment rate of 75 Hertz. Even better would be 85 Hertz, though. The quality of the picture is very important and although most screens today offer the possibility to correct some mistakes, the most annoying things cannot be corrected with this help.

So if you think about buying a quality screen, get a counselling in your local store.
