Hint 5 – Harddisc
If you’re looking for a hard disk, there are two important things to watch: the size and the speed.
How big your hard disk has to be depends on what you’re planning to do. The brand new computer games for example can take up to 2 gigabytes a game, and if you’re even planning to edit videos, then you should buy an enormous hard disk (100 gigabyte minimum).
Regarding the speed, it is: the faster the better. At the moment there are three different speeds: 5400 rpm, 7200 rpm and 10.000 rpm.
Leading fabricants in this field are Western Digital and Maxtor.
Hint 6 – Graphics Adapter
In this category of periphery there are three types:
- standard graphics adapters
- 3d graphics adapter
- TV graphics adapter
If you want to work regularly or do video editing (not from the television though) you just need a standard graphics adapter. This will totally do it and by the way rather cheap.
If you want to record directly from the television, your choice should be the third type.
If you want to play computer games you have to buy a 3d graphics adapter. Without it you will get problems like a non-fluid game play. So if you want to enjoy your games, get a 3d graphics adapter.
